Highlights from the last couple weeks

We watched our friends' dog, Dolly, for a week a couple weeks back and had so much fun! The boys loved hand feeding her and just loving on her in general :)

 Pretending to be doggies :)
Chairs are pretty much always all over our kitchen, except around the table of course. The boys were having so much fun pouring water!
One day at preschool the kids turned our little store into a lunch counter and they were so cute to watch, I had to take some pictures.
And then the boys decided to be daddys and take care of the baby.
I love making cookies with Max and Sammy. They LOVE it! It is so good for them too to measure and pour.
Sitting in a tupperware in the back yard, eating a peach.
This is a pictureof our vegitble garden. The pumpkin plant I planted at the end of August got enormous and grew 2 HUGE pumpkins before it finally got killed by frost this last week.
The boys had lots of fun looking through it for interesting things (and throwing interesting things into it to find).
Sammy loves his baby. He's so cute because he is always looking for it, "Beebee? Beebee?" Its so funny because he is such a baby still.
This was just so funny to me because he was holding his baby and playing angry roaring dinosaurs at the same time. Our bishop gave us a set of dinosaurs a few months ago that his kids had outgrown and they are hands down Max and Sammy's favorite toy right now. Sammy just growls them and acts like they are eating eachother, but Max likes to put ones that look similar together and play family games with them Where the baby's will get lost or hide under something and the grownup dinosaurs will be looking everywhere for them.

I made some pumpkin smelling play dough a couple weeks ago and we have all loved it. I love playing with it because it smells so good! Max has fun cutting and rolling and mixing and building and describing it. And Sammy likes to find little pieces and put them on his head.
We moved our desk to this spot by the window and now I think it is so fun that there is a little shelf for Sammy to come up and stand on behind it. Whenever either one of us is working on the computer, Sammy will go there and steal our attention back.
Halloween was so fun this year! We had 3 chances to dress up. One was Max's friend Ginger's birthday party which was such a blast! Next the church halloween party.
Javier had been at a boy scout training camp and got back halfway through this party. We were soooooo glad to see him. I don't do very well without him in public places because the boys tend to run away in different directions. Ahhh! But mainly we were happy to see him because we missed him so much! The night he was gone Sammy woke up crying in the night and when he realized Javier wasn't there he just cried, "Daddy, daddy, daddy" For an hour even though I was holding him and rocking him. It was so sad.
I'm getting more adventurous all the time. I decided to pull out the easel the other day and the real paints (like, I didn't make them myself) The boys made beautiful pictures!

I checked outu a bunch of different versions of Goldilocks and the three bears last week and Max and Sammy have been playing the story all week. They are so cute! Here Max was feeding the wee small bear after Goldilocks left.
And Sammy was feeding the Big giant bear. It has been so fun to look over during the day and see Max with a book open telling the story to himself with all his fun voice inflections and describing words. He's learned a whole lot! This is going to be our next unit in preschool too.
When Halloween finally came, Max wanted to have a different costume, so we looked through our dress ups and jammies and put together this skeleton pirate costume. He was really excited when he saw that his best neighbor friend was a skeleton too! We all went trick or treating together and had such a fun night! Ben and Claudia are 8 and 5 and they are so sweet with my kids!
When we got to our house at the end of the night, Sammy turned right around like he wanted to just keep going. He was having os much fun! Then once we got him inside and closed the dorr, the boys sat right down and started eating their candy.
Anither skeleton jammies picture. They are always up on the counters, sometimes I wish I could bolt my chairs to the floor.
One day we put water balloons in the bathtub. The boys always love taking baths any way, but they had a lot of fun with something new.
They especially liked popping them and watching the water gush out.
This last weekend we went camping witha bunch of friends and had so much fun! But it was freezing cold. It got down to be 40 degrees which felt like negative 100 to my body that is cold when it is 76. But we brought like every blanket in our house so we were warm and toasty in our tent. The only problem was that we have a 2 man ten, and Sammy did not appreciate being so crowded, so there was a fair amount of crying. Maybe we wont be invited next time...

Campgrounds in Texas are ridiculously nice. There are paved trails, nice clean bathrooms with showers, flushable toilets, and plenty of toilet paper, and some of them even have electrical outlets at each campsite. I like camping in Texas!
Part of the camp out was a camp talent show which was so fun! I loved it that my kids had the chance to perform and get lots of applause. I even recited the Jabberwocky, even though I HATE performing! I am trying to be a good example for Max and Sam. Whew, I thought it might kill me though.
And as an added bonus, there were donkeys there that loved eating carrots. So friendly and fun!
SO pretty much that has been the most exciting stuff. We've always got a lot going on, but its all good stuff so I guess I can't complain. Something else really fun has been that it is primary program time at church. Writing and planning the primary program is one of my responsibilities and this year it has been so much fun. We have 150 children in our primary so it was really a challenge to find a way for all of them to participate in a special way, but practicing these last few weeks, it has been so fun to hear their testimonies, see their sweet earnest faces as they sing, and just overall be touched by their sweet faith. I am so blessed to be in Primary!

Oh, if I weren't me I would never read this blog. My posts are always so long and so random. But I am glad that I have a place to record all this life for my children, my husband, and myself so that we can all remember it.
