This is Javier's half second cousin, Zabrina and her little girl Andreita. Javier stayed with Zabrina's mother for a year while he lived in guyaquil so they are very close.

here are some pictures we took at a beach called Frailles. It was gorgeous! Whiye sand, cristal clear water. While we were swimming school of tiny fish were swimming all around us. Cool, and a little creepy. But it was an incredible day!
Here are some pictures we took in guyaquil which is the biggest city in Ecuador. This is a humogous Mall. It looks like a palace. Ecuadorians are very fashoinable.

We were staying with javier's cousin Jessica who lives in San borondino (the nicest area of the city) Max climbed into this box of toys.

We took these pictures at a beach called San Jacinto which is really close to Javier's house (like 45 minutes). this day we also saw a ton of /Dolphns right off the coast. It was so much fun! here we buryed Max in the sand! He's driving a little car but its hard to tell thats what it is supposed to be.
This is Javier's Mom playing with Max in the water. Max loves the ocean! Everyone was supprised that he wasn't afraid, he just kicked his little legs and tried to chase the water. He was so happy!

These are some pictures we took at Javier's hgh school, Colegio Nacional Olmedo. He and his brothers have told me the craziest stories about it. Like sometimes they didn't have class for a month at a time because students had taken over the school with guns!!(There is a law in Ecuador that police arent allowed to enter schools). Also Javier said that it was a common occurance for someone to bring tear gas to school so that class would be cancelled he said that he has smelled tear gas many times.

This is our nephew, little Esham. he is very affectionate. Every time I saw him he would tell me, "Caridad (i go by Caridad there because no one can say my name) , do you know that I love you sooooooo much!' He was also always trying to convince me to let him hold Max, which as you can see in the picture was probably not a good idea.
This is just an every day picture at Javier's house, Max was pretty much always dressed like this because it was so hot.
One day we went to a beautiful pool with the whole family. We had a ton of fun!
Max and Javier's tio Jaime who introduced him to the church and is basically his role model. I love Max's face in thus picture. I think Cristhian had given him goku hair again.
I will still be posting more about Ecuador. For the current update, we are in New York city. Javier LOVES his job! And I am actually loving it too, much to my suprise. The firts week has been eventful! I spent the first two days scouring the apartment because the people we are subletting form didn't clean at all, my least favorite part of thos process was scrubbing what swear was 100 year old pee stains off of every surface in the bathroom. It took a lot of work, but I feel like everything is clean now so that is good.
On Saturday we walked around Central park, The Metropolitam museum of Art and walked down 5th avenue, and madison avenue, and Park avenue. We saw a lot of really cool things, like the PLaza Hotel, THe diamonds at Tiffany's, FAO Swartz, which I wanted to stay in all day, 2 gorgeous Cathedrals. It was a super fun day!!
We came home exhausted at about 9. Just beofre we went to bed at around midnight, Max started caughing a scary cough, so we went out un the living room where he was sleeping to check on him. He was weezing like crazy and coughing a cough that sounded like a seal bark. We were scared because it seemed like he couldn't breathe so we took him to the emergency room. We were there all night until 9 in the morning on Sunday. They said it was croup, but it was very good that we brought him. THey gave him some steroids and made him inhale some kind of Gas. That was really not a fun night. We were so worried about our poor little baby, and it was horrible to see him lyng there gasping on the hospital bed. I have to say that I am so grateful it happened now and not in Ecuador. He has been much better the last couple of days.

We were going to have a little party for Max the Friday after his birthday. But the day after his birthday he got really sick and he wasn't feeling well at all for a few days, so we had to cancel it. poor little guy, his birthday ended up being pretty lame. on the actual day we gave him our little present and we went to a movie and bought him a little cupcake to eat but that was about it. Then like a week after his birthday we finally ate the cake I made for the party. Pretty lame. In these pictures he was still feeling kind of yucky.
