Meet Ecuador!

Meet Tio Lenin, the best Ninero there ever was! Every kid he's ever met just loves this Man and when I thanked him for being so sweet  to our kids his response, was,
"Of course! I'm their Tio!"
Meet Baby Gianna, Both my boys are in love with her. In church on SUnday Max is screaming across the chapel, "Mommy! Gianna LOVES me!!" because she was giving him a hug.,
Sammy followed her around giving her hug afetr hug after hug. He hugged a little too hard though, so she mainly crawled away.
Meet giant ants that are very tasty for babys.
Meet Amna Fabiana. SHe loves soccor and reading!
Meet my handsome and beautiful in-laws! They were so very kind to me and my children! We love them so much! I loved the way Sammy followed his Papi Ada around with his hand outstretched waiting for him to shake his hand  (this of course delighted Papi Ada!) and the way he ran to hug the legs of Mami Ruth! Also meet an Ecuadorian party! We had to get all fancy to go a wedding reception, and what a party it was! Waiters, a full course meal, a live band, and beautiful newly wed couple as darling as they could be and the whole floor full of people dancing (including us) untill 2:30 in the morning. SO much fun! My ears felt stopped up for a day afterward!
Meet platanos. Thats a whole lot of them!
Meet baloon girl! An entire girl made from baloons! Lots of fun...until her head popped...
Meet poverty. These pictures don't really tell the story. In the house behind this one lives a family with four small children. We came and found them sleeping all alone. There is no roof on their house and it is missing a wall. There is no bathroom. When it rains they get soaked, and there is nothing at all to protect them from disease carrying mosquitos and bigger animals. I just cried and cried. We drove by 20 houses like this one on the way and I guess at least 50 percent of Ecuadorians live in houses made from cane which also provides no protection from mosquitos and no bathroom or way to cook except over a fire. How can I ever be the same again afetr seeing that? I hope I never will be.

Meet my mother-in-law's beautiful Garden! I love the way the beautiful tropical plants are all potted in old buckets and broken rice cookers. I think this is probably the most beautiful place I have ever seen. The picture doesn't really do it justice.
Meet hamocks: the most fun toy ever. Max loved to swing from them and yell, "This is soooo fun!!!"
Meet sweet cousins (Javier's) Milena and Josua, who laughed to hear Max talking in English and whome Max called, "My best friends"
Meet Choclo and Rock, translated, Corn and Rock a hugely successful restaurant in Javier's city which only sells Corn while playing loud rock music. How funny, huh.
Meet a big wonderful loving family! So sweet and good and loving, and so funny and silly sometimes too! Oh how we love them!!
Meet Fabio. He is going to be Sammy's best frined someday!
Meet Sweet Sister's in law, Karina and Karla!
 Meet beautiful Beaches!
Meet Max's other best friends, Esham and Domenica. These are Max's cousins and he loves them so much! These three were inseperable and we teased that Max was like the new missionary in field because they kept teaching him words like pompis (bum) and then laughing hysterically while he said it over and over. They were so sweet to him!
Meet riding in the back of a truck and never stopping my prayer that we would all arrive safely!
 Meet beautiful Ecuador countryside
Meet Quito, the most beautiful city in the world!
