So the other day, I heard Max open Sammy's door on the monitor, so I ran upstairs. I thought it was pretty sweet when I found Max in there with Sammy's head on his lap, singing him songs.
Sammy is funny these days. He LOVES blowing bubbles and he is very attached to his Mommy. A lot of times if someone else even looks at him, he will start bawling! But then other times he will yell and smile and try to get other people's attention, so it just depends.
Max loves Baseball! He is actually pretty good at it too! He can hit the ball with the bat and he throws and catches way better than I do! He asks me all day long if we can play baseball, and the other day I was so surprised when he asked me if he could have a number shirt. He must have learned it when we watched baseball on a TV at a restaurant or something because we don't have TV at home. Funny guy!
He also loves to wear his baseball hat all the time.
Sammy loves solid foods and he sucks down whatever I give him. Max loves to help me feed Sammy and he is always suggesting that Sammy might be hungry.
Ugh. where to start on this one. Max had his first asthma attack in 9 months a few weeks ago and it was a bad one. We were up all night long in hot showers, standing by the freezer door, giving puffs of rescue inhaler.  He would fall asleep finally and then wake up an hour later choking for air. IT was awful mostly because it had been so long so we weren't prepared with the medicine he needed. We went to doctor the next day and they got him back on his maintenance stuff at least for the winter and we finally got ourselves a nebulizer which is what he has in this picture. It takes like 20 minutes for him to inhale all the medicine from this thing, so it is hard to get him to sit still for so long. Finally we decided the easiest thing was to let him watch some show in spanish on youtube, and then we figured since he was just sitting there anyway, he may as well be sitting on the potty :) I was proud of him when he started holding it himself. He's is so grown up now, not the tiny screaming baby who we held in our arms and gave this medicine to last year.
Javier has been working like a maniac!! Every day he comes home and then works until midnight. He goes to sleep only to spend half the night worrying about work the next day. But yesterday, he had a really good day so that was exciting for both of us. He is going to be able to give a lot of his dutys to someone else in the next month or so, so things will be looking up.
It always makes me laugh when Max tries to hold Sammy because they are so close to the same size. Especially now because Sammy has started crawling, there is no keeping him in one place.
I decorated for halloween. There are just a few little things around the house, but they make me smile when I see them. I have actually been OB.SESSED. with decorating blogs lately. Unfortunately I really can't put into practice anything I'm learning very quickly. Patience Charity, Patience.
Here's my little firemen. Aren't these outfits cute!

AND Sister Larsen was transferred. I cried. It was such an incredible blessing that she was called to our ward right from the beginning. I needed her so much! I can't say how wonderful it was even just to see her face every now and then. I am going to miss my friend so much!
And here is a video of Sammy CRAWLING! My favorite thing that I wasn't able to get on camera is the way he hops like a frog sometimes. He'll get way up on his feet and put his bum all the way in the air and then hop forward. He really does look just like a frog. So cute!

SO lucky!

A week ago we got our first copy of the Marriott SChool Alumni magazine and lo and behold on page 19 there is an AWESOME picture of everybody clapping for Javier and the other Macc grads. I emailed the magazine and asked if they'd send me the picture, not expecting they would but just think how awesome it would be to have that beautiful picture! Well they are nice! I am so excited!

A few things I want to say on October 4th

A couple nights ago Max woke up and came into our room like he usually does in the middle of the night, except he was wired. He did not want to go back to sleep, so he sat there in the middle of our bed for like 3 hours just talking to himself and playing while Javier and I tried to sleep. Sometime in the middle of that, he stroked my hair and said, "Mommy?" "Yes Max," I said sleepily. " I know that Jesus loves the children."
Oh my sweet boy! I know he does too!

I have been thinking lately about how tactile both of my sons are. Max has these 2 blankies that he loves so much! Whenever he isn't busy he takes a tie in his hands and rubs it on his lips. That is also how he falls asleep. He always seems to be rubbing all kinds of things on his face like my makeup brushes that he loves and stuffed animals, and stuffing he pulls out of pillows.
Sammy is just the same! Whenever I feed him, his sweet little hand loves to rub my shirt, or my hand, or anything close, but that seems to be the thing that gives him comfort. Its so sweet!
When I took this picture the other day I noticed that Max and Sammy had been laying there for a while happily, so I went to see what they were doing. I was so happy because they were really playing together. Max handed Sammy a toy and I can't remember the exact words he was saying but it was something to the effect that Sammy was a monster in the game and Sammy kept shrieking like he loves to do, so it was kind of cute. I could tell they were both so happy!
Something Hilarious lately is that Sammy has started putting everything in his mouth, of course because he is 5 months old. But Max is afraid he is eating the things he puts there, so he always freaks out! He will scream, "No Sammy! Don't eat the HAND!" Or whatever it is. I think it is so funny! Its hard for Max to understand why Sammy would put it in his mouth for a different reason than eating it.
And this is Sammy saying, "Look what I can do!" Did you notice that he is way up on his feet. He isn't doing the true knee hand crawls yet, but he is definitely super mobile. He can get wherever he wants to go if he has a little time. I love seeing him reach his goals! He is always so triumphant as he gets the the thing he wanted and finally gets to reach out and put it in his mouth! Yay Sammy! For all of your successes!
And just because I have blogged so much about it already, I would like to announce that we finally were able to lay sod in our yard this weekend! Yay! We worked so hard! They delivered it on Friday at 6:00 at night and we worked until midnight and then worked all day Saturday until 6:00, listening to conference on the baby monitor while it was on in the house. I don't think I was that tired the day I ran my half marathon, but its all worth it now! We were so lucky that we had some dear wonderful friends and neighbors who helped us so much or we never would have been able to lay it all before it died in our driveway! But its going to be awesome to have a real yard now! For the first time ever!
